Let me start by saying that the new website looks great! I like the layout and the new features that you've integrated into the site. Very well done.
As for myself, I'm the other half of the student representatives of ISPST. This week I completed the requirements for a master's degree in experimental psychology at San Jose State University and will officially be an M.A. as of next month. I conducted my master's thesis under the guidance of Dr. Feist examining various aspects of personality and mental health among scientists in different domains.
Prior to beginning this psychology of science research I went through an exploratory process where I jumped on any research opportunity that presented itself. I went from assisting in research examining the effects of glucose on memory in rats to a meta-analysis of the cognitive effects of glucose in humans. From there I made my way to I/O psychology where we looked at context effects on risk through gambling. Although invaluable experiences, it wasn't until I began working on a project examining the relationship between personality and social support that I knew I had found my niche.
I am interested in how personality influences various aspects of our lives. In particular, I am interested in creativity in general, but recently my interests have been more concentrated on creativity in science, specifically. In addition, my interests in the study of personality, along with my statistical background, have led me to appreciate and enjoy psychometrics and have fueled my desire to pursue a doctoral degree in quantitative psychology. I am currently immersed in the application process and urge you all not to worry or come looking for me if I don't surface again until late December.
In comparison to the other members of ISPST, I am still in the early stages of my research endeavors and so I am honored to be in the company of you all.
Regards,
Chad
