Research funded by NSF's Science of Science Innovation and Policy
program will be presented at three conferences this summer.
* An entire symposium dedicated to psychology research funded by
SciSIP will take place at the Association for Psychological Science's
Annual Convention in Boston May 28, 2010, at 9 am, featuring research
on inspiration (Todd Thrash), cognitively based multi-agent
computational modeling (John Gero), tools in engineering innovation
(Christian Schunn), and the interaction between conflict and analogy
in teams (Susannah Paletz & Christian Schunn). NSF personnel will be
on hand to answer questions about SciSIP.

* The new findings from Paletz and Schunn regarding a connection
between analogy and conflict in team processes will also be presented
at the 5th Annual INGRoup (Interdisciplinary Network for Group
Research) convention in Arlington, VA, July 22-24.

* Furthermore, methodological and conceptual advances in studying
intra-team conflict arising from Schunn and Paletz's SciSIP research
will be presented as part of a symposium titled "Recent Innovations in
Conceptualizing and Measuring Intra-Group Conflict" at the Academy of
Management's Annual Convention in Montreal, Canada. This symposium
will take place on August 9 from 3-4:30 in the Joyce Room at Le Centre
Sheraton. It will also feature research by leading and rising conflict
